Cyber Monday Australia 2024: Best flight and travel deals from Amazon to Virgin

Cyber Monday has arrived, continuing the barrage of insane travel deals, including up to 30 per cent off Virgin flights and 60 per cent off travel essentials at Amazon.

Cyber Monday is notorious for bringing bigger and better deals than Black Friday. 

This year, everything travel - from flights and hotels to experiences and car hire - travel has either been extended or slashed even further. Needless to say, you can organise your entire 2025 holiday itinerary for a fraction of the cost right now.

Let's start with what's new.

Today Coach Outlet dropped 50 per cent off sitewide, Zorali has taken a bonus 10 per cent off sitewide with code EXTRA10, RedBalloon has an extra 12 per cent sitewide (previously 10 per cent), Hype DC is running an up to 50 per cent off sale and Lenovo has taken up to 61 per cent off (previously 58 per cent) selected laptops.

Flight sales are still going strong with a day or two left to book your holiday.

Across Australia, Virgin Australia's Black Friday sale has thousands of seats at up to 30 per cent off. Prices start at $49 each way. While the domestic fares are great, the international seats are a cracker with Queenstown fares from $405 return (yup, RETURN), Bali from $499 return, Fiji from $569 return and Vanuatu from $499 return.

For budget flyers, we're loving AirAsia's deal which takes 23 per cent off absolutely everything to celebrate its nicely timed anniversary. That's 23 per cent off every flight and every seat type. Flights from Australia start from just $169 each way.

Speaking of budget, Amazon Australia has a number of tasty tech accessories worth snapping up. Top of our list is the INIU Mini Power Bank. This pocket rocket has over 8000 reviews and is on sale now at a very affordable $27.99.

For luxurious travellers, Singapore Airlines has our vote. They're running a Companion Fare sale with flights to Asia from $617 return. If you don't have a plus-one, don't sweat, solo fares are also on sale. As as Business Class seats.

They're not the only ones slinging a companion sale. Qatar Airways has also hopped on the trend with economy seats from $1719 return per person to Europe. Again, Business Class fares are also in the mix starting from $7539 return.

The best bit? Travel in economy is from January 15, 2025 to June 15, 2025 to catch an early Euro summer. Upgrade to Business however and you can travel through those summer dates until November 25, 2025. Food for thought, that.

Need it cheaper? Etihad Airways is giving Qatar a run for their money with Europe flights from $1353 return. Your dates are more restricted, running from January 15, 2025 to May 31, 2025. But the price is oh-so nice.

If sunshine and sand is on the agenda, Mix & Match has Fiji Airways flights to the South Pacific Islands down to $535 return.

As for other travel deals? Well, for hotels both Expedia and Wotif are taking at least 30 per cent off accommodation for members. Booking.com has one-upped them though and has up to 35 per cent off stays... and you don't have to be a member to get the deals, either.

When is Black Friday?

This year, Black Friday is on November 29, 2024. While this is the official event date, many retailers often start their sales much earlier - sometimes at the beginning of November.

How long do Black Friday sales last?

Traditionally, Black Friday runs for the day only. As the event has grown, the sales have extended to include the weekend (Cyber Weekend) and the Monday following (Cyber Monday). 

Do better deals drop on Cyber Monday?

Sometimes it can be worth waiting around for new, better, sales to drop. As someone who has covered Black Friday travel sales for over five years now, that's not always the case - especially for flights, hotels and activities where there are only a finite number of seats and rooms to book.

My advice? If you see something at a price you're happy to pay, snap it up before the next person does.
