Taking advantage of the many end of financial year (EOFY) sales happening right now is a great way to purchase a new vacuum cleaner at a discounted price. It offers a two-hour runtime and features like anti-collision, scheduling, quiet operation and obstacle avoidance. Reviewers say they’re surprised at how much dust and dirt the unit picks up, with one happy Amazon customer calling it a “god send” and “great value for money”.

The newer Dyson V15 Detect Absolute Cordless Vacuum is similarly on sale for $450 off. The stick vac boasts laser technology that lights up any dirt and grime that’s typically too small to see, so you can make sure your floors are as clean as possible. TikTok user @ollieandbutler, who has garnered over one million social media followers, even labelled the stick vac a “game changer” and “the perfect vacuum for all pet owners”.

Another fairly new release to keep an eye on is the iRobot’s Roomba Combo j7+ robot vacuum, which is $300 off. The brand labels it the “world’s first fully hands-free vacuum and mop”, thanks to the retractable mop pad. The unit also promises to recognise (and more importantly, avoid) objects than its older siblings, such as cords, shoes, kitty litter boxes, pet bowls and even solid pet waste.

EOFY stands for “end of financial year” and is an important date for anyone who owns a business.

In Australia EOFY marks the date for when you can start filing your tax return and if you run a business it’s when you would complete tasks like an inventory stocktake, summaries of debts and assets as well as other financial reports.

WHAT TYPE OF EOFY DEALS ON VACUUMS CAN I EXPECT?

While summer has Black Friday and Boxing Day sales that start in November and last well into January, discounts are far and few between once you get to the middle of the year.
