Brady backflips on decision to retire from league

Just two months after announcing he had retired from the NFL, legendary quarterback Tom Brady confirmed on social media he is returning for a 23rd season.
Earlier in March, Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians told reporters that Brady would not return, despite rumours swirling of a potential comeback.
But the hints were there that Brady was not truly done — it was just a matter of where he ended up.
When asked last month about a return to the league, Brady said: “You never say never.”
Brady — despite having seven Super Bowl championships, three MVPs and five Super Bowl MVPs — still feels he has something to prove.
“Total excitement", was Arian’s response to NFL insider Ian Rapoport when asked about Brady’s return.
Brady’s decision is also an immediate boost to Tampa Bay’s hopes of extending tight end Rob Gronkowski, who was one of 25 Buccaneers free agents this off-season.
Brady had convinced Gronkowski to come out of retirement when he made the switch to Tampa Bay after the pair forged a highly successful partnership at New England.
As for rival teams, Brady’s return to Tampa Bay means the San Francisco 49ers will need to look elsewhere for an option at quarterback.
Ever since rumours of his comeback surfaced, Brady has been linked to San Francisco, who were expected to move on from Jimmy Garoppolo.
