Nike roasted over marketing gimmick gone wrong

Nike probably shouldn’t sponsor the National Spelling Bee anytime soon, judging by their latest social media fail.
After Duke lost to North Carolina in America’s NCAA tournament, Nike published a couple of tweets paying tribute to retiring coach Mike Krzyzewski – but the campaign left many social media users scratching their heads.
You can’t spell coach without K. #CoachK
As many primary school students will know, there’s no “K” in the word “championship”, even if retiring coach Mike Krzyzewski is known as “Coach K”.
Krzyzewski won five national championships (all between 1991 and 2015), which is second only to UCLA’s John Wooden.
Plenty on social media were quick to roast Nike.
The truth is you can spell all these things without K. Turns out Nike is kinda dumb.
