Cricket legend Shane Warne’s greatest moments

Australian cricket legend Shane Warne, widely regarded as the greatest leg-spinner of all time, has died aged 52.

Warne was cricket’s greatest modern day superstar, taking 708 wickets from 145 Tests for Australia from 1992-2007.

Here is a look back on some of the cricket legend’s greatest achievements.

Warne delivered the “Ball of the Century” with his first toss of the 1993 Ashes tour, bowling Mike Gatting with a ball that turned from well outside leg stump to clip the off bail, instantly writing himself into folklore.

In December of 2001, Australia was locked at 1-1 with New Zealand in the final of a three-match Test series in Perth. Fearless andcharismatic,Warnie came inat No. 8 − and made it all theway to 99.

Warne delivered a magnificent performance at Edgbaston in 2005, finishing with 10 wickets for the match and scoring 42 in the second-innings. He finished with 6/46 − the best figures for an Australian at Old Trafford.

EDGBASTON 2005

On March 28, 2006, Warne bowled out South Africa’s batsman Andre Nel on the final day of the second Test match between South Africa and Australia at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead in Durban.

‘AMAZING ADELAIDE’ 2006

In 2007, Warne announced his retirement at summer’s end with Australia 3-0 up in the Ashes. In the perfect farewell, he bowled Andrew Strauss to become the first to reach 700 wickets.
