The Brooklyn Nets will have to go through the play-in tournament to get into this year’s Eastern Conference playoff series and will have to do so without Ben Simmons.
But the latest update from Brooklyn suggests Simmons could play a key role in the playoff push should the Nets get there.
Sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that the Nets are “optimistic” Simmons could return in the first round of the playoffs, even if for just 10-15 minutes per game.

Nets coach Steve Nash said there is still “no timetable” for a possible Simmons return, adding that the Australian is still not running outside of the AlterG.
