How young dad became Victoria's top influencer

Despite all the glamorous WAGS, beauty experts and fitness gurus on social media, a father of one has beaten them all to be crowned Victoria’s top influencer.
This is how he did it.
Caleb Finn has amassed more than 16.5 million followers across TikTok, Instagram and other platforms.
Numbers game
The 27-year-old, who has a penchant for horror films, began uploading content in 2018 before going full-time in 2019.
At the time Finn had been working at a primary school running its after-care program, but he was fired when the principal caught wind of his side hustle.

The school found out that I had blown up on TikTok. I had about 1.3 million (followers) by then and because I put a lot of horror stories into my content it didn’t go down too well with them.
But it has clearly been a hit with his audience. Finn was ranked the no.1 influencer in Victoria and second in Australia in The Oz Top 100 Influence Index.

Over time, Finn has dialled down some of his posts’ blood and gore and added behind-the-scenes videos of his family life.
Unlike many of his social media contemporaries, Finn doesn’t post heavily curated pictures of perfection on Instagram.

I like to be upfront and show people when I have bad days as well as when I have good days. I try to break down that stereotype where life is always happy and picture-perfect because it’s really not like that.
Finn believes his honesty resonates with his followers and is a large part of his success, but he said he was not obsessed with growing his audience base.
