Bridgerton Season 2: what you need to know

Dear reader, it’s officially tea time because Lady Whistledown is back for Season 2 of Bridgerton.Here's what to expect

First off, prepare for a gaping Duke-shaped hole. The lovely Rege-Jean Page will be absent this season.

Instead, this season is all about the eldest Bridgerton, Anthony, on his quest for love, which leads him to the Sharma sisters.

The Sharma family has come to London from Bombay, and Lord Anthony has his eyes set on the Queen’s Diamond of this season, Edwina (Charithra Chandran)

The problem is Edwina’s protective sister Kate (Simone Ashley) will do whatever she can to stop them from marrying .

The series' saucy moments aren’t going anywhere – even though the Viscount is trying to ditch his womanising to find true love.

Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), aka Lady Whistledown, is up to her old tricks. Coughlan has teased there’s more trouble to come from the scandalous writer.

In fact, there could be serious repercussions in store for Lady Whistledown, along with a "closer" relationship with her (unrequited) love interest Colin Bridgerton.

The indomitable Queen and her sky-high wigs are back, with an obsession to unmask Lady Whistledown. She's enlisted Eloise Bridgerton to help uncover the gossip scribe’s true identity.
Queen Charlotte
Lord Bridgerton , played by Rupert Evans, will likely appear in flashbacks. He is the late husband of Lady Violet (Ruth Gemmell), and father of Anthony, Daphne and co.
Daddy's home
There’s a tiny sliver of a chance Page could make an appearance. When chatting about Season 2 he said: "Isn’t there something wonderful about being surprised by what you weren’t suspecting?” 
Drama is on
There are already two further seasons commissioned and showrunner Chris Van Dusen has suggested there could be eight seasons of Bridgerton. Season 2 debuts on Netflix on March 25.
