Bombshell claims from the book Meghan and Harry are dreading

It's the book reportedly making Meghan Markle and Prince Harry nervous. Tom Bower's tell-all, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, is an unflinching look into the couple's royal rifts.

These are some of its bombshell claims.

According to Bowers, Prince Harry’s closest friends clashed with a “woke” Meghan Markle from the start at a weekend away in Sandringham in 2016.

Clashes with Harry's mates

Bower wrote their jokes, involving sexism, feminism and transgender people, didn't go down well with Meghan, who "reprimanded them about the slightest inappropriate nuance. Nobody was exempt".

That “wokery” sparked concern from Harry's friends. “Meghan was a dampener on the party... She lacked any sense of humour,” Bower wrote. Texts were flying afterwards, with one friend writing "Harry must be f---ing nuts".

Meghan clashed again with Harry’s mates in Jamaica in 2017 during a trip for Tom Inskip's wedding. One friend stated: “Not only did she quibble about the food, but she behaved ‘princessy’, refusing to engage with Harry’s friends."

The book reveals the breakdown of the Royal Family began after Prince Charles confronted Harry about Markle’s messy estranged father and his TV appearances in which he was critical of the royals.

Thomas Markle mess

According to Bowers, Charles berated Harry and called on him to end it: “Can’t she just go and see him and make this stop.”  Markle, however, refused.

The couple were extremely defensive when Queen Elizabeth requested Markle fly to Mexico to speak with her father. It led Prince Harry to begin to “sympathise with his wife's rejection of the palace’s deference and hierarchy”.

Increasingly isolated, the couple began to cop flak for their actions from British tabloids. Markle also resented comparisons with her sister-in-law Kate Middleton.

Under fire and alone

Bowers writes that Markle began lashing out at critics, blaming the palace for not defending her. Tensions rose when she announced at Princess Eugenie’s wedding  she was pregnant.

Bower claims the couple thought they could pick up where Harry’s mum left off in gaining goodwill from the public. They surrounded themselves with Hollywood insiders who assured them they could be as popular as Diana.

The Diana complex

In response, the Palace set up The Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but it was run by trustees, which Markle was apparently unimpressed with.
