St Thomas More’s Primary School and Canberra Girls Grammar School are Canberra’s top performing NAPLAN schools.
An independent analysis of newly-released 2022 NAPLAN results has revealed the schools which performed the best in the Year 5 and Year 9 tests.
St Thomas More’s Primary School in Campbell had better primary results than any other school in Canberra, scoring an average of 542.4 across the five test subjects.
Canberra Girls Grammar in Deakin was the second ranked primary school for the region with an average score of 539 while Radford College in Bruce was the third best with an average score of 537.8.
The top performing secondary school was Canberra Girls Grammar in Deakin with an average result of 627.
Brindabella Christian College in Lyneham was the second best with an average score of 617.6 while Canberra Grammar School was the third best with an average score of 616.6.
To determine how each school performed in 2022, the scores for all five test subjects for the student cohort (Yr 5 or Yr 9) were combined and the average found.
Special schools, schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects were excluded from the analysis.
The figures were independently compiled from the Federal Government‘s MySchool website.
