How schools in Mildura and surrounds performed in NAPLAN this year

Independant schools in Mildura and surrounds reign supreme in secondary NAPLAN results but government primary schools have clinched the top scores. See the rankings.

Independant schools in Mildura and surrounds reign supreme in secondary NAPLAN results but government primary schools have clinched the top scores.

Trinity Lutheran College and Mildura Christian College had the highest average NAPLAN scores for high schools in the Mildura region.

Both schools finish at year 10 level.

Irymple Secondary College was the only government secondary schoool to make the top five, scoring the highest numeracy result of the lot.

Grammar was the lowest ranking test subject for year 9s at every school except Mildura Christian College with had an impressive score of 599.

St Joseph’s College — the only independent Mildura school to offer VCE classes — was firmly in the middle of the year 9 rankings.

Government schools Koorlong Primary School and Ouyen P-12 College both beat Trinity Lutheran College and Mildura Christian College in the primary school results.

Koorlong Primary School excelled in grammar with an average score 20 marks above the second-ranked Mildura Christian College.

Tyrrell College, Robinvale College and Mildura Primary School ranked at the bottom, with their grade five results all averaging well below scores for the rest of the region.

To determine how each school performed in 2024, the scores for all five test subjects for the student cohort – Year 5 or Year 9 – were combined and the average found. Students are tested on the reading, writing, spelling, grammar and numeracy skills.
