Muck-up week festivities kick off at Victorian schools
Gender-bending dress-ups, theme days, colour runs and even a For Sale sign on Methodist Ladies’ College in Kew have marked the start of muck-up week for Victorian year 12 students.

Muck-up week festivities have kicked off at many Victorian schools, as students start the countdown towards the first VCE exam on October 29.
Gender-bending dress-ups, theme days, colour runs and school-controlled celebrations have marked the start of the last week on campus for more than 50,000 students.
Methodist Ladies’ College in Kew kicked off festivities at the end of last week, putting a FOR SALE sign at the wrought iron gates at their campus gates.
For the record, the upmarket school’s Kew campus was valued in 2022 at $205m, its Marshmead campus in Mallacoota at $13.5m and its Banksia campus in Gippsland at $4m.
Down the road someone put a SOLD sign on the Preshil campus in response, making light of the alternative private school’s recent sale to nearby Carey Grammar.
MLC students also dressed up in the uniforms of other boys’ schools, including Trinity Grammar, Xavier College and St Kevin’s College.
Students also dressed up at Wesley College St Kilda campus, and even managed to get teachers to pose for videos celebrating the end of classes.
At Caulfield Grammar, as at MLC, Tintern Grammar, Donvale Christian College and a number of other schools, girls cut up their school dresses, turning them into fun body-revealing outfits.
At Brunswick Secondary College students reported school was “done and dusted” and dressed up in a variety of costumes including goths, cartoon characters, smurfs and penguins.
Muck-up week continues, with many schools holding week-long celebrations according to themes such as Movie Monday, Tradie Tuesday, Wear Pink Wednesday, Throwback Thursday and Future Friday.
