A young woman fought off a trio of violent thugs who attacked her while trying to steal her car in Melbourne’s outer east this morning.
A suspected stolen Audi sedan was driving along the Warburton Hwy in Wandin North when it lost control and rolled on its roof before 1am.
Police believe two men and a woman climbed out from the wreckage and flagged down the victim for help.
The woman, 26, from Woori Yallock, stopped to provide assistance but was immediately set upon.
The trio demanded she take them in her car but she refused.
One of the men started to assault her as another tried to pull her from the car.
But she wedged herself into her car seat by jamming her foot against the windscreen.
Eventually the offenders realised she was not moving and they ran away in an unknown direction.
She sustained minor injuries.
A search is currently underway to locate the three attempted carjackers.
Police have urged them to hand themselves in immediately.
