Thief steals $100,000 of designer bags in Collins St ram raid

A thief with a penchant for designer goods has stolen a loot of luxury handbags worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

A thief with a taste for luxury goods has stolen an estimated $100,000 worth of designer handbags in an early morning CBD ram raid on Tuesday.

The alleged ram raid on luxury goods store Berluti Melbourne on Collins Street took place about 4.30am.

“It is believed a vehicle was used to hit the front of the business,” Victoria Police spokeswoman Nikki Ladgrove said.

“The offender then entered the store before leaving again in the vehicle.”

A crime scene has been set up, as detectives comb the scene for clues.

No arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
