A man has been arrested over a car park brawl in Healesville which left a teenager fighting for life in hospital.

The 18-year-old Diamond Creek boy, who was caught up in the violent fight outside Fluid Lounge, was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with bleeding on his brain after he was found unconscious about 3.20am on Sunday.

The Herald Sun can reveal a 22-year-old Glenburn man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with four offences including intentionally causing serious injury, affray and related assaults.

He has been bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on November 30.

Yarra Ranges Crime Investigation Unit detectives said they had been searching for up to ten people involved in the fight.

The teenager remains in hospital where he is in a serious condition.

A local man, who witnessed the violent attack, said a group of eight men and women, aged in their late teens to early 20s, were involved in a fight with two other young men.

The altercation started outside a jeweller on the Maroondah Hwy, before the crowd moved about 100m to the public car park off Church St.

The teenage victim was left critically injured close to the entrance of Fluid Lounge’s beer garden, which had been closed for two hours by the time the fight broke out.

“There were a lot of punches thrown back and forth between the group, particularly between two guys,” the witness said.

“Then one guy got a punch to the face, he fell back and his head hit the ground. You could tell straight away it was serious.”

“At this stage I believe there were approximately 10 people possibly involved in this,” Det Austin said.

“We’re uncertain of how many people were in each group and as to how they’re all connected at this stage but that’s part of the investigation.”

The violent incident was caught on camera by nearby CCTV and investigators have urged those involved to turn themselves in.

“There is CCTV of the incident. We will be reviewing that CCTV and we are urging anyone who has any information in relation to this offence and what’s occurred there to please come forward and tell us what you know,” he said.

“We will review all CCTV and identify all the people involved.

“I would urge them to come forward, make contact with us and explain their side of the story. We can investigate it and go from there.

He added: “I think we live in a good community where sometimes, things like this occur. It’s up to the people involved to take responsibility.”
