An anti-lockdown protester who allegedly struck a police horse with a pole has been charged with a string of offences.
Police issued a pre-dawn search warrant in Narre Warren South on Wednesday morning.
They arrested a 40-year-old man at the scene.
Detectives have charged the man with animal cruelty and a number of other offences including affray, reckless conduct, possessing a prohibited weapon and the storing of unauthorised explosives.

The anti-lockdown protest took place on October 23 at the Shrine of Remembrance.
Media footage captured a man’s alleged act of violence against the police horse.
The man has been bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on June 4 2021.
