Underworld figure Toby Mitchell has found himself on the wrong side of the law again.

The feared Mongols OMCG member was slapped with a consorting warning while on the Gold Coast on the weekend.

Mitchell had flown to the sunshine state for a memorial ride with fellow Mongols bikies.

The group was stopped by police during the ride, with Mitchell filming officers during the tense interaction.

He later took to social media to vent his frustration at the order.

“So 8.30pm Sunday night the gang squad come to my hotel room to put me on a consorting order that (sic) why I am up (sic) Gold Cost. I can’t hang around 15 of my mates. What a joke,” he wrote.

Consorting laws target criminals by making it an offence for recognised offenders to associate with other criminals.

The offence attracts a maximum three year jail term.

Several other Mongols bikies were hit with consorting notices during the Gold Coast meet up.

A Queensland Police spokesperson said the warnings are a powerful “pre-emptive” strike to help stop criminal networks.

“Over the weekend the Queensland Police Service undertook enforcement action, including the issuing of consorting notices, against members of the Mongols OMCG,” said the spokesperson.

“Police can issue ‘pre-emptive’ warnings to those involved in criminal networks.”

Queensland Police is part of the National Task Force Morpheus, a joint law enforcement initiative involving Victoria Police and Commonwealth partners targeting high threat OMCGS operating in Australia and overseas.

Mitchell was the national sergeant-at-arms of the Bandidos before he left in 2013.

He shifted to the Mongols last year.

He survived two shooting attempts on his life and is regarded as one of the most infamous crime figures in Melbourne.
