A man has been dramatically arrested as part of a police investigation into a shooting at Carrum Downs.
The man was detained in a police swoop at Nugget Way, Carrum Downs, this afternoon as police continue to an incident in which the victim was shot at and hit by a car.
The arrested man, a 29-year-old from Cranbourne West man, is expected to be questioned later today over an incident on Cadles Rd at 8.20am on February 16.
The victim, a 25-year-old man from Langwarrin, was walking on a footpath when a man with a gun approached and opened fire.

The shots missed but he was hit by a stolen Ford Focus car moments later when it was driven onto the footpath.
The victim, who suffered head and neck injuries, was taken to hospital.
Police later said it was believed the victim and gunman knew each other.
