Police say finding out what happened to missing Epping woman Ju “Kelly” Zhang remains a major priority three weeks after she vanished.
Specialist searchers on Monday scoured two sites in Melbourne’s north-east for any trace of the 33-year-old mother, last seen alive at her Winchester Avenue home on February 1.
Her boyfriend Joon Seong Tan, 35, has been charged with her murder.
Monday’s search was carried out around Darebin Creek at West Heidelberg and in an area around Sparkes Reserve and Napier Wallace Reserve in Alphington.
Officers from the search and rescue squad, the dog squad and the public order response team were unable to find any trace of her.
Detective Insp. Andrew Stamper of the missing persons squad said the operations were based on intelligence received.
He said work to find Ms Zhang would continue.
“We haven’t given in,” Insp. Stamper said.
“The priority is to bring her home to her family and provide some answers for them.”
The search came as police appealed for an anonymous Crime Stoppers caller who provided details of Ms Zhang’s body to make contact again.
Police have again urged that caller to come forward again.
Ms Zhang was believed to be wearing a pink nightgown and possibly pink slippers at the time she was last seen.
Investigators are still looking for public help for sightings of Mr Tan’s black 2008 Mazda CX9 station wagon, registered WKE 850, and the white Land Cruiser of Ms Zhang in the period after her disappearance.
