Fugitive and girlfriend arrested over death of Geoffrey McDonald in Geelong

A man and his girlfriend wanted by police over the death of Geoffrey McDonald in his suburban Geelong home have been arrested after a five-day manhunt.

A fugitive and his girlfriend have been arrested following a five-day manhunt.

Homicide Squad detectives arrested Joshua Hocking, 35, and Kayla Collins, 34, in Shepherdson Ave in Corio at 11.20am on Monday.

Mr Hocking was wanted following the death of Geoffrey McDonald, 47, at his home in the Geelong suburb of Whittington last Wednesday.

Ms Collins is being treated as an accessory after the fact.

Mr Hocking has been charged with murder and will appear in the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Monday afternoon.

Ms Collins was released by police pending further enquiries.

The homicide investigation continues.
