Finks bikie strongman Koshan Radford will fight assault charges stemming from a brawl outside a King St strip club.

Radford, a senior member of the national outlaw motorcycle gang, is facing charges over a confrontation outside the Centrefold Lounge venue.

The anti-bikie Echo taskforce charged him over the incident, which unfolded in the early hours of a night out in March last year.

A committal hearing for the King St charges against Radford will be heard in July next year.

The Herald Sun has been told he intends to fight the charges on the basis of self-defence.

A number of others involved in the alleged affray have already pleaded guilty.

The 42-year-old, also known as Koshan Rashidi, moved to Victoria where the Finks have in recent years re-established a firm foothold.

Their numbers dwindled after many members were patched over by the Mongols at the start of the decade.

There has been some friction between the gangs in the past 18 months which is suspected of being behind tit-for-tat shootings and firebombings.
