Ex-Victoria Police officer charged with historical sex offences
An 88-year-old former Victoria Police officer has been returned to Melbourne from the UK to face a series of decades-old sex assault charges.

A former Victoria Police officer extradited from the United Kingdom has been charged with historical sex assault allegations.
The 88-year-old was returned to Melbourne earlier this month over a series of decades-old allegations.
The officer, who served in the force from 1965 to 1975, faces four charges of indecent assault and one count of gross indecency.
Detectives had been investigating the sexual assault of a child between 1974 and 1979.
Those matters were reported to police in 2000.
The charged man is expected to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 21 December 2020.
