Eastern Freeway truck driver hit with drug trafficking charge
The truck driver charged over the Eastern Freeway tragedy that claimed the lives of four police officers has been hit with more charges.

The truck driver accused of killing four police when his rig ploughed into them on a freeway has been hit with 33 new charges.
Mohinder Singh, 47, of Cranbourne has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine and cannabis and driving under the influence.
Mr Singh is already facing charges of culpable driving over the April 22 tragedy on the Eastern Freeway.
“Subsequent investigations have led to him being charged with an additional 33 offences including four counts of dangerous driving causing death and drive under the influence as well as trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking cannabis and other drug related offences,” a Victoria Police statement said.
Mr Singh will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court for committal mention on October 10.
A manager at the trucking company where Mr Singh worked was earlier this month charged with four counts of manslaughter over the deaths of Leading Sen-Constable Lynette Taylor, Sen-Constable Kevin King, Constable Glen Humphris and Constable Josh Prestney.
Father-of-five Simiona Tuteru, 49, from Connect Logistics, was later released on bail.
An earlier court hearing was told he was aware of tMr Singh’s truck driver’s deteriorating mental and physical state.
The four officers killed had pulled over speeding Porsche driver Richard Pusey and were preparing to impound his vehicle when they were hit by the truck.
