Police have arrested and charged a 34-year-old man following an alleged stabbing at Fountain Gate on Sunday afternoon.
A woman in her 30s suffered injuries to her upper body, with Ambulance Victoria saying she has been taken to the Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The alleged attack happened at a bus stop area at the shopping centre in Narre Warren.
The man from Croydon was arrested in Hallam a short time later.
He was charged with intentionally causing injury, possessing a controlled weapon and theft.
He will appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
