A mother who was tragically killed in a head-on smash in Melbourne’s south east has been remembered as a “cherished wife” and a “very devoted mother”.
Mother-of-one Divya Bhatia died at the scene following the collision on O’Shea Rd in Berwick on Saturday about 10.15am.
The four occupants in the second vehicle - the male driver, female passenger, a male child and a baby boy – were all taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Husband Robin Mehra paid tribute to his 33-year-old wife, saying he and his son “will miss her deeply”.
“Divya was a cherished wife and a very devoted mother,” he told the Herald Sun.
“She was our life and the light which illuminated our existence.
“These words encompass my beautiful wife’s life for me and my son.
“There is nothing which can fill the void which she has left in our lives.
“We will miss her deeply.”
The couple were also approaching their 10-year wedding anniversary.
Mr Mehra thanked those who responded to the incident and pleaded with anyone who saw the incident or has dash cam footage to come forward as he tries to piece together exactly what happened.
“Can anyone with dash cam footage or any witnesses come forward please,” he added.
“We are just trying to fathom what happened.
I am thankful to Victoria Police for their efforts thus far, whilst we await more information and clarity.”
