Geelong draftee Keighton Matofai-Forbes has been accused of allegedly assaulting a woman at a concert in Melbourne’s northwest.
The Herald Sun understands Matofai-Forbes was approached by a woman at Australian DJ Dom Dolla’s gig at Flemington Racecourse over the weekend.
It is believed a physical altercation broke out between the pair with the 18-year-old young gun allegedly assaulting the woman.
The incident has been reported to the AFL’s integrity unit.
Matofai-Forbes was the 69th pick in this year’s draft, joining the Cats after booting 11 goals from seven games with the Western Jets.
The up-and-coming forward also represented Vic Metro in the AFL under-18s championships.
Following draft night, Matofai-Forbes labelled himself as a “powerful athlete” who was elated to hear his name called as one of the last few picks.
“I would describe myself as a bit of a powerful player, a power athlete and that is where most of my strengths lie,” he said.
“Like some of the other boys I am very aerobically based, can run all day.
“I can get up in the air and can move pretty quick, that is my strength.”
The AFL, Geelong Football Club and Victoria Police were contacted for comment.
The allegations against Matofai-Forbes comes just two months after the club refused to comment on fellow Cats player Tanner Bruhn’s knowledge of an alleged sexual assault at a Geelong nightclub.
Bruhn was interviewed by members from the Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team in September this year about his knowledge of the incident that occurred on February 5 last year.
The Herald Sun revealed in October that CCTV footage of Bruhn inside prominent Geelong nightclub, Bloom, would form part of the police investigation into the matter.
Bruhn is understood to have been partying with friends, first stopping at Beavs Bar on Little Malop St, before moving to Bloom in the early hours of the morning.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said on Tuesday the investigation remained ongoing.
