Police are investigating and are treating the fire as “suspicious.”

Friday morning’s attack is the latest in a series of suspicious attacks on ice-cream shops and restaurants in the area.

The Williamstown Ice Creamery & Frozen Yoghurt shop, just off Nelson Place, was targeted twice in mid-November last year after an earlier fire in October 2022.

The three attacks led to the shop hiring private security guards to man the store overnight to prevent further damage.

Notorious crime figure Fadi Haddara’s Docklands restaurant Karizma was suspiciously torched on November 20, and another Docklands restaurant he was linked to, Almina, was set alight on December 8.

Company records show the Capriccio store was formerly run by Ezzat Haddara.
