Two police officers from Victoria’s west have fronted court facing false imprisonment charges over an alleged incident that took place while they were on duty.

Senior constable Russell David Thorley, 41, and leading senior constable Kristy Lee O’Connor, 39, appeared in Horsham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday where their case was adjourned to later this year.

The pair were charged in April after an internal investigation by Victoria Police’s Professional Standards Command into an alleged on-duty incident in January last year.

No details were aired during the brief hearing and the case was adjourned to October to allow time for witness summons to be finalised.

Both officers appeared in court via video link and Constable Thorley was wearing a police uniform.

The pair will return to court on October 11.
