Two people stabbed in daylight attack outside Berwick Woolworths

Two people were stabbed at random in broad daylight in Berwick.
The horrific crime spree took place outside Woolworths on Lyall Rd just after midday on Sunday.
A man armed with a knife was “behaving erratically” before stabbing two people.
The victims were rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The knifeman was taken down in a citizen’s arrest before police arrived.
He remains in custody.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated,” a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
“It is not believed parties are known to each other.”
There is a heavy police presence in the area.
Local MP Brad Battin wrote on social media “Thank you to Victoria Police for their response. And to the exceptionally brave community who did the right thing.”
“To all the staff in the Berwick Woolworths and surrounding business, we hope you are all ok. No one should have to see this in their workplace.
“Our community should be safe.”
