Two men have been charged over the alleged fatal stabbing of a man in Melbourne’s CBD on Sunday.
Kwar Ater, 23, from Seabrook, and Bol Mangok, 20, from Delahey were both charged with murder, affray, intentionally causing serious injury and intentionally causing injury.
The charges came after the gang crime squad executed warrants at their respective homes on Friday morning.
The duo faced the Melbourne Magistrates Court separately via weblink on Friday evening. Neither applied for bail.
The prosecution told Magistrate Olivia Trumble they needed to review extensive CCTV footage and that forensic analysis needed to be lodged.
The charges follow a brawl on Bourke St on October 30 about 5.45am where two men were stabbed.
Kose Kose, 20, from Cranbourne, died from stab wounds sustained in the alleged attack.
Court documents allege another man Timothy Leek was unlawfully injured by the pair.
Mr Ater and Mr Mangok were remanded and will next face court at a committal mention hearing on March 27 next year.
Earlier, links emerged between wild CBD brawls that left one man dead, two fighting for life and another in hospital.
There is also a possible connection between some of those involved in the hours of chaos and a carjacking at Dandenong North in which a man was stabbed.
Around 10pm on Saturday a Porsche driver and his two passengers were confronted by a group of at least four young men at a service station in Dandenong North.
The CCTV footage captures the moment a female passenger flees in terror as the men — at least one of whom was armed — confront the male driver.
The driver was stabbed before the group took off with his car, which was eventually located by police near King St where two men were stabbed hours later during a violent brawl.
He is in a stable condition at the Alfred Hospital.
Onlooker Kyle Skipworth was walking back to his hotel after a day at the races when he came across the bloodshed, reporting that one man had been stabbed repeatedly in the back.
“They just all come out of the club in like a stampede … they were running, running for their lives,” he told 7 News.
Mr Skipworth said one of the attackers had confronted him with a knife.
“He just appeared to be running anywhere where there were people until he found the two that he wanted,” he said.
“He had it down low, ready to stab another person.”
“I just tried to talk him out of not stabbing me, told him to calm down. He was sizing me up. He was ready to stab me.”
Hours after the carjacking, suspected gang members fought before shocked onlookers outside Inflation nightclub on King St at 1.25am.
Police said two men were found injured at the intersection of Flinders Lane and King St after “a large affray”.
One had life-threatening injuries and another, aged 19, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Blood was smeared across a white car parked where a crime scene was established.
Four hours later, there was more violence, this time fatal.
The Herald Sun has been told an initial confrontation occurred at a short-stay apartment on Little Bourke St.
At 5.45am, emergency services were called to Bourke St, between Elizabeth and Queen streets, where two more men were in a critical condition after being stabbed.
One of them died hours later in hospital while the other was fighting for life.
CCTV from Hardware Lane showed young men and women retreating as the brawl rolled down Bourke St.

Punches were exchanged and one man was repeatedly kicked as he fell to ground.
Police say a 19-year-old Broadmeadows man was arrested on Bourke St.
Acting Superintendent Troy Papworth said the killer was still on the run.
“They came into the city, with the intent to cause this offence, they then fled the scene, and our police are still looking for those things where any members of this group was involved,” Supt Papworth said.
“We have investigators working to identify a number of incidents that have caused a young man to lose his life and left several other young men seriously injured.
“The incidents remain separate at this stage.”
Police exploring connection between carjacking and CBD violence
CCTV is expected to be a key element into the probe between the carjacking in Dandenong North and CBD violence.
The 53-year-old Reservoir man was stabbed several times and his Porsche was stolen near a Stud Rd service station.
The car was recovered at 3am on Queen St and three males were arrested, including two boys under the age of 18 who have been charged with multiple offences.
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated carjacking, theft of motor vehicle, intentionally and recklessly causing injury, assault in company and assault with a weapon. A 15-year-old boy who was charged with aggravated carjacking, theft of motor vehicle, affray and assault with a weapon.
Both have been remanded to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
A 22-year-old Cairnlea man was also arrested and later released pending further inquiries.
Premier Daniel Andrews said “any violence is completely unacceptable’’.
“No one should doubt Victoria Police’s resolve to fight crime and keep the community safe,’’ he said.
“I wouldn’t see that incident last night as reflective of what’s happening across our city.’
Opposition Leader Matthew Guy said he looked with “great concern at what’s come to our CBD”.
“To me it is not the place it was two to three years ago and it needs direct intervention from government,” he said.
