Three people armed with machetes have been charged over a home invasion in Melbourne’s west.

Police were called after five males allegedly forced their way into a Atheldene Drive home in St Albans about 11.55pm Thursday.

The group is alleged to have demanded cash from their two victims, a man and a woman.

The victims were then allegedly assaulted.

The crew allegedly ransacked the home, stole cash from the victims and fled the scene on foot.

The two victims were rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police on Friday arrested a 15-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man.

All three were charged on Friday night with aggravated home invasion, intentionally cause injury and possession of a controlled weapon.

The 18-year-old will face the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in May with the other two offenders to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

Two other offenders remain on the run with the investigation remaining ongoing.
