Six youths have brawled with machetes at Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne’s west.
An 18-year-old Sunshine North man, 17-year-old Braybrook boy and 18-year-old Deer Park man were arrested after the incident.
An 18-year-old St Albans man was taken to hospital with a stab wound to the arm.
Police were called to the centre around 6:10pm on Thursday after reports of six males fighting at the centre.
Two of the males were armed with machetes and the fight happened near the cinema before spilling out to the restaurant area.
One witness said there were “hundreds of people running” from the chaos before the alleged offenders rushed past a group of children.
It is the second stabbing attack at Highpoint in less than a week and follows a number of brawls by youths armed with machetes at Melbourne shopping centres.
The Braybrook boy has since been charged with intentionally cause injury, affray, assault with a weapon, and possess a control weapon.
He was bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
The Sunshine North man was released pending further inquiries, while the Deer Park man was released with intent to summons.
It is understood the groups were known to each other.
