Teen charged after allegedly leading police on wild chase in stolen Mercedes
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly hitting speeds of up to 240km/h during a wild joy ride on the Monash Freeway in a Mercedes allegedly stolen from a Brighton home.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged over a high-speed thrill ride in an allegedly stolen luxury car in Brighton.
Police believe the boy was with a group when they allegedly forced their way into a home on Orchard St, Brighton, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The group allegedly stole three luxury cars — a Porsche, Mercedes and a Land Rover — at 1.45am before taking off in different directions.
Police deployed a chopper after spotting the car flying down the Peninsula Freeway and tailed the into Melbourne’s CBD.
It is alleged the young boy raced the Mercedes at speeds of up to 240km/h on the Monash Freeway before coming to a stop between Eastlink and Peninsula Link.
The 15-year-old was arrested and charged with three counts of theft of motor vehicle, aggravated burglary, reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, dangerous driving and possession of a drug of dependence.
The Porsche was found abandoned in Carrum Downs a short time later, while the Landrover was found in Brighton.
The teen will appear before a children’s court on Wednesday.
