A fourteen-year-old boy, who was out on bail at the time, has been charged following an aggravated burglary on Sunday which resulted in two teens fatally crashing a stolen car into a tree in Rowville.

The boy was arrested in Wodonga, in Victoria’s northeast, on Thursday, with police alleging he was driving a second car stolen from the Knoxfield home during the burglary.

A 17-year-old boy is expected to be charged at a later date after handing himself in on Tuesday with police also believing he was in the second car.

That second vehicle, a Honda Accord, was located in Keysborough on Tuesday.

Teenagers Nick Price and Nick Crick were killed when the Toyota Yaris they stole from the Emica Pde home crashed into a tree on Kelletts Rd.

A passer-by discovered their bodies inside the crumpled vehicle at about 2.30am on Sunday.

Both boys were declared dead at the scene with the impact of the crash so severe police had to use alternative methods to identify them.

Police have ruled out the second car playing any part in that deadly crash.

The fourteen-year-old has been charged with aggravated burglary, driving at speed, unlicensed driving, committing an indictable offence while on bail and two counts of vehicle theft.

He will face children’s court at a later date.

The 17-year-old is expected to be charged on summons with aggravated burglary and theft of motor vehicle.

It is understood neither Price or Crick were known to police and were not on bail when the crash unfolded.

Investigations remain ongoing.
