Kangaroos midfielder Tarryn Thomas will plead guilty to multiple driving offences while his revenge porn threat charge was dismissed following two separate court hearings in a single day.

Thomas, 23, has been charged with three driving offences over a Christmas Eve cruise in Heidelberg West, where he drove on a suspended licence and failed to display his P-plates.

His lawyer told the Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday morning that Thomas, who also goes by the surname Trindall, couldn’t be there for “personal reasons”, but that he would be pleading guilty to the driving offences.

Attempts to keep those charges secret from the public were rebuffed, with Magistrate Michael Wighton approving the release of the documents.

That case was adjourned for a guilty plea on September 14.

Hours later, Thomas’ name was again in the Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court, where his diversion over a revenge porn threat was finalised.

Thomas last month admitted to threatening to leak consensually recorded intimate videos of himself and an ex-partner in July last year, after he took offence when she told him that “your mum must be so proud”.

“Don’t bring my mum into this, I will get her to smash you so f--- up,” he replied, before stating that he’d “already sent that sh*t around”.

Initially charged with threatening to distribute an intimate image, he later admitted to a downgraded charge of using a carriage service to harass.

Magistrate Julie Grainger on Tuesday afternoon confirmed that Thomas had complied with his diversion, where he was ordered to pay $1000 to the court fund within a month to avoid a conviction.

Her Honour dismissed his charge, with no criminal conviction recorded.

Thomas’s ex-girlfriend Jamai Curran last month slammed his punishment, stating that “it sets a really terrible example to men who abuse women, that they can pay a bit of money and get away with it”.
