Police are searching for the motive in a terrifying drive-by shooting attack on a suburban family home.
A car was also incinerated when thugs struck in Friday’s dead-of-night attack at Boadle Rd, Bundoora.
A family was at home when a gunman came to the front door at 1am and opened fire with three shots.
A cluster of bullet-holes could be clearly seen in a steel security door at the brick townhouse.
A car parked on the street was then set alight, the ferocity of the blaze destroying it within minutes and damaging another vehicle nearby.
It is expected that bullets fired into the house will be ballistically examined to determine whether the gun used to fire them is linked to other crimes.
Police believe two men were involved in the attack.
No one inside the house was hurt.
Investigators canvassed the area for witnesses and anyone with CCTV which might yield clues on who was responsible.
Anyone able to help investigators can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
