Woman dies in hospital, one week after coffee attack at Caulfield service station
A woman who had hot coffee poured over her during an assault outside a Caulfield service station has died in hospital.

A woman who had hot coffee thrown on her during a daylight assault has died.
The 52-year-old died in hospital one week on from the attack at 7 Eleven service station in Caulfield last Tuesday morning.
She was taken to hospital after the incident, which happened at a Hawthorn Rd servo at 10.15am, with life-threatenig injuries.
Investigators were told a woman poured coffee over the victim and then assaulted her before fleeing the area.
“The exact circumstances of the assault are unknown and the investigation is ongoing,” a police spokeswoman said.
Detectives from Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit charged two 51-year-old women from Caulfield with recklessly causing serious injury.
The pair has been bailed to appear at Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court in May.
Police are awaiting the results of a post mortem to determine the woman’s cause of death.
