School bus involved in crash in Traralgon

Twenty students were on-board a bus that was hit by a car on Thursday afternoon, sparking a major emergency response.

Two people have been rushed to hospital after a car collided with a bus carrying 20 students in Traralgon.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Bank St and Princes Highway about 3.50pm on Thursday afternoon.

Two people were transported by road ambulance to Latrobe Regional Health.

Paramedics assessed 17 people at the scene.

The 39-year-old male driver of the car, who was travelling alone, was taken to hospital with injuries described as not life threatening.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said significant resources were dispatched to the scene.

“Ambulance Victoria has dispatched significant resources to the scene, including Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) paramedics,” the spokesman said.

The exact circumstances surrounding the crash were yet to be determined, a Victoria Police statement said.
