He is charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, armed robbery, intentionally causing injury, assault with a weapon and a raft of firearms charges.

Police believe Maynard, a former member of the Vigilantes, is a sergeant-at-arms in the Rebels.

The precise details of the alleged kidnapping are yet to be aired in court, but in a statement, Victoria Police said a man was allegedly taken from his Craigieburn home in May and seriously assaulted, before being left at the corner of Donnybrook Rd and Brookvale Rd in Craigieburn.

Passers-by found the alleged victim and called the authorities.
