Six teenagers have been questioned after wreaking havoc inside a cinema screening of Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.
It is understood that five girls and a boy, all aged between 12 and 14 years old, burst into the cinema at Southland Shopping Centre on Tuesday night where they reportedly vaped, played loud music and yelled at viewers about 9.30pm.
One of the kids reportedly punched a seat next to a woman and yelled “you can’t touch us, there’s nothing you can do” before security arrived.
The movie had to be stopped and affected customers were offered free movie tickets.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the group of rowdy teens had fled the cinema before police arrived.
The same group allegedly broke into another store inside the Cheltenham shopping centre where they stole drinks before they were arrested about 3am.
Police questioned the group and they were all released pending further inquiries.
No one was injured during the incident.
But one woman told 3AW on Tuesday that she had taken time off work because she couldn’t sleep after the ordeal.
Southland Shopping Centre has been contacted for comment.
