A cop has been busted in possession of child abuse material.
The 43-year-old sergeant from the northwest metropolitan region is facing a series of charges related to the possession of vile abuse material involving minors.
Victoria Police alleged the offending occurred while the officer was off-duty in September last year.
He will front court on Friday.
