Police are appealing for assistance after the release of CCTV footage of two missing men who set a Melton barber shop alight in December last year.
The two offenders are said to have broken into Central Walk Shopping Centre on McKenzie Street at about 3am on Monday December 30.
The two men were seen running inside the shopping centre covered up, with one man kicking open the plastic shutters with a jerry can and hammer in hand.
A few moments later one of the men was seen in the footage pouring petrol onto the floor of the barber shop, shortly before setting it alight and filling the shop with flames.
Smoke quickly filled the centre, as both men made a flustered escape.
The arsonists then fled towards Unitt Street, where they were last seen.
Nobody was inside the centre at the time of the incident.
The first male was described as Caucasian in appearance and approximately 160cm tall.
He was seen in the footage wearing a black face covering, grey jumper, white gloves and black runners while carrying a jerry can and a hammer.
The second male was also described as Caucasian in appearance and approximately 170cm tall.
He was seen wearing a black face covering, black baseball cap, black framed glasses, grey hooded jumper, black gloves, dark navy pants and grey runners while carrying a silver bar.
Police have released CCTV footage of the incident and are urging anyone who recognises the two males, has information or CCTV/dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
