Frustrated customers are calling on a popular fast food chain in Melbourne’s southwest to hire security after it was forced to close its dining area due to rowdy teenagers.

Point Cook McDonald’s on Jamieson Way shut its dining room between 3pm and 5.30pm everyday last week after high school students acted in a foul manner.

The Herald Sun understands teens were caught vaping inside the store, vandalising property and threatening staff with aggressive behaviour.

Angry customers have taken to social media to urge the store owner to employ security guards.

“Time for the restaurant owner to hire a security guard to patrol this restaurant, plus it’s an occupational health and safety issue,” one man said.

“So hire private security firms and have the little shits removed every single time they enter,” a woman said.

Other customers called the unruly teens “feral little mongrels” and “feral animals”.

“I went there the other day and witnessed the behaviour of some kids in the dining area, it was absolutely atrocious, disgusting and appalling,” a diner said.

“I really feel for the young staff members and management having to tolerate this crap.”

A McDonald’s spokeswoman said the dining room was shut down to “restrict loitering and anti-social behaviour in our restaurant”.

“We can confirm our Point Cook dining room was closed between 3:00pm and 5:30pm Monday – Friday last week to restrict loitering and anti-social behaviour in our restaurant,” the spokeswoman said.

“These measures were taken to protect the safety of our customers and crew, which is our top priority. We have reported this behaviour to the police.

“Drive-Thru and delivery remained open during these times.”

Victoria Police were contacted for comment.
