A motorcycle linked to former Richmond footballer Jake King was seized this week in a police operation aimed at alleged wild riding by Mongols bikie club members.

The Sunday Herald Sun has been told the machine has the personalised registration PSHUP, or something similar.

It is unclear whether King is the current owner of the bike and there is no suggestion he was riding it at the time of the alleged offending or that he has engaged in any wrongdoing.

Three Mongols, including the gang’s national sergeant-at-arms, were arrested this week and are set to face criminal charges over the matter.

One of two bikes confiscated by Echo taskforce detectives in relation to the inquiry was the one which had belonged to King.

The investigation related to an organised run on July 4 in which members allegedly smoked up tyres while performing burnouts.

Footage of the antics was recently posted online by Mongols supremo Toby Mitchell.

King came to be known during his playing career as the Push-up King because of his endurance in performing the exercise.

He has for years been a firm friend of Mitchell, who is a Richmond fan.

Mitchell founded the City of Ink tattoo parlour in Clarendon St, South Melbourne, which is now operated by King.

King’s lawyer John Gdanski was approached for comment by the Sunday Herald Sun.

The men arrested on Thursday were a 36-year-old from Brighton, a 26-year-old from Bundoora and a 31-year-old from Rowville.

All have been charged with reckless conduct endangering serious injury and a range of other offences.

The men, all patched members, will appear in court later this year.

Their homes and the outlaw motorcycle gang’s Port Melbourne clubhouse were searched under warrant.

It was the second Echo operation to zero in on the Mongols last week.

Days earlier, office-bearer Joshua Eddy, his sister Jaide and father David were charged with high-level drug trafficking after a major swoop at Cobram, in northern Victoria.
