Emergency services are on the scene of a “significant traffic accident” at the Tullamarine Freeway exit to Melbourne Airport.

Access to terminals 1, 2 and 3 has been disrupted and motorists were being urged to use Airport Drive.

Two lanes were blocked after Mercer Drive and near the exit to the site’s long-term carpark.

It is believed the multi vehicle accident could involve up to four cars with both Ambulance and Fire services on the scene with an airport spokesperson saying travellers should expect an additional “20 odd minutes” of travel time to get to their terminals.

It is not believed that anyone has been seriously injured in the accident.
