Police are investigating after a 16-year-old was left with multiple stab wounds in a shock attack that occurred after a fight on a bus.

A man is on the run after allegedly stabbing a 16-year-old on a bus in Melbourne’s east on Thursday afternoon.
Police confirmed that emergency services found a male with multiple stab wounds on the footpath along Fitzsimons Lane at about 4.30pm.
He was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital with life-threatening injuries but had been discharged by Friday morning.
Victoria Police confirmed the alleged assailant remained on the run and no charges had been laid over the stabbing.
Investigators will probe CCTV footage from the area, as well as witness accounts in a bid to solve the crime.
Almost four hours after the stabbing, roadways were still blocked off to traffic as police continued their investigation.
The driver of the bus remained at the scene assisting police with their inquires.
She declined to comment regarding the incident.
The bus, where the attack is reported to have occurred, was still parked along Fitzsimons Ln within the established crime scene.
Large sections of Williamsons Rd were cordoned off by police, disrupting many commuters on their way home.
Investigators had established demarcations along a footpath on Porter St, where the offender is believed to have travelled across while he fled the scene.
Police believe the victim had a fight with a man on a bus when the stabbing occurred.
The pair are understood to be known to each other.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that both men exited the bus following the incident and the alleged offender ran off before police arrived.
Police are still searching for the attacker.
The Department of Transport confirmed that outbound lanes along Fitzsimons Lane have been closed near the Foote Street intersection.
Those near the area are being advised to avoid the area where possible.
