Man dies during Cranbourne police arrest
An investigation is underway after a man suffered a medical episode and died during an arrest in Cranbourne overnight.

A man has died overnight after police attempted to arrest him while he was walking on a main road in Cranbourne.
Police said they came across the 32-year-old walking in traffic on High Street about 11.40pm on Tuesday and requested he get off the road.
The man then became aggressive and officers moved in to arrest him but he suffered a medical episode.
Police commenced CPR before paramedics and fire authorities arrived to assist.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, he died at the scene.
Detectives from the Homicide Squad will investigate the death with oversight from Professional Standards Command, as is protocol when a person has died in police custody.
