Man charged with assaulting police after Shrine of Remembrance protest
A man who attended a violent rally at the Shrine of Remembrance has been charged with allegedly assaulting police as a probe into recent protests continues.

An anti-lockdown protester faces a possible mandatory six month jail sentence after being charged with allegedly assaulting police, as the force hunts 11 other men who they believe were involved in criminal behaviour.
Detectives from the newly established Prime Taskforce charged the man as part of the ongoing investigation into a series of assaults on police officers and criminal damage at recent protests in Melbourne.
Police executed a warrant in Hillside on Monday and arrested a 47-year-old man.
He was charged with two counts of riotous behaviour, two counts of affray, assault police, criminal damage, two counts of discharging a missile, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and breaching the chief health officer directions.
He was bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on November 8.
Police are today releasing new images of eleven males they would like to speak to in regards to alleged criminal activity in Melbourne throughout September.
They are hunting eight suspects who attended the violent protest at the Shrine of Remembrance on September 22.
The sacred Shrine of Remembrance was desecrated at this illegal protest and riot police were forced to fire rubber bullets to separate rowdy crowds.
Projectiles, including glass bottles, were thrown at police officers among the mayhem.
Victoria Police has released pictures of eight men they would like to speak to in regards to the protest activity.
The force is also hunting two men who damaged an unmarked police car at the intersection of Collins and Spencer streets about 4.40pm on September 21.
They have released images of those two males.
Prime Taskforce detectives are also investigating criminal damage and graffiti which took place at Toorak train station on September 23.
Several myki readers were damaged at the station and the word “Freedom” was spray painted inside a train.
Police have released an image of a male they believe can assist with their inquiries in relation to this incident.
