Man arrested at Flinders St Station after trying to escape on foot
Police have arrested a man at Flinders Street Station after he allegedly assaulted a women then tried to flee the scene on foot.

A man has been arrested at Flinders St Station following an alleged assault that held up morning commuters heading into the city.
After the man allegedly assaulted a woman at an address on Market St at about 6.45am, he tried to flee the scene on foot.
Police spied the man making a run for it on Queen St, then arrested him a short time later at Flinders St Station.
A police spokesperson said they believe the parties are known to each other.
“The woman was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” they said.
