A man accused of dealing drugs outside Prahran’s pubs and clubs in broad daylight has been arrested and charged by police.

Police allege the 54-year-old man had been selling drugs of dependence near Chapel Street’s buzzing entertainment precinct before his arrest on Wednesday.

Local detectives raided the man’s apartment on Fitzgerald St in South Yarra where they allegedly seized meth, heroin, cannabis and oxycodone.

Clear and white powders were also allegedly uncovered which will be forensically tested.

A pair of knuckle dusters and an electronic stun device were also allegedly located in the man’s apartment.

Electronic devices, car keys and 10 various cards, believed to have been stolen, were also allegedly found inside.

The South Yarra man, wearing a white T-shirt, baggy black pants and a set of handcuffs, was marched into a police divisional van just before 7am on Wednesday.

“A man is facing almost thirty drugs and weapons offences after allegedly being caught dealing drugs near Chapel Street,” police said in a statement.

“Police allege the man was dealing drugs of dependence in broad daylight, in close proximity to the entertainment precinct.”

The 54-year-old has since been charged with trafficking methylamphetamine, heroin and cannabis, as well as possessing methylamphetamine, cannabis and four counts of possess other drug of dependence.

He was also hit with three counts of possessing a prohibited weapon, four counts of possessing proceeds of crime, three counts of possessing a Schedule 4 poison, and ten counts of handling stolen goods.

He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on March 17.
